KT-FlexCell 3500
The KT-FlexCell 3500 was developed with the target of further simplifying the integration of automatic test systems in the production line. An essential aspect in the development of the test cell was to allow the customer an investment security in the planning of new product lines. With the FlexCell different configurations are possible, including offline operation with drawer guidance of the UUT/DUT or complete in-line integration. Contacting of diverse UUT/DUTs is enabled with a flexible system of different fixtures, including a standardized fixture for the X-Y-Z-Φ axis systems.
Features
- fixture-based
- based on fixture
- in-circuit test (ICT)
- functional test (FCT)
- end-of-line test
- automatic optical inspection (AOI)
- flashing of assemblies
- positioning tasks
- LED test
- button test
- trimming of potentiometers etc.
- push button testing
- or tests as a combination of these features
The basic set-up of the cell consists of a stable pillar die-set. The rack frames to accept the upper and lower fixtures are located within the die set. The circuit board conveyor, alternatively the WT transport system or the offline drawer is located in-between. Depending on the expansion level, the test cell can be used in the product ramp-up phase as an off-line cell, later with the same fixture as an in-line cell. The lower fixture can be contacted completely wireless with the test system (e.g. ABex) mounted on the rear of the Flexcell via a Virginia Panel interface (VPC). Here the advantages lie in the correct signal routing from the UUT/DUT via the switch matrices to the measuring instrument without interference-prone cable connections.
The fixing and contacting of the UUT/DUT takes place through the servomotorical - or pneumatic vertical movement (toggle lever) on the upper fixture. If the UUT/DUT is connected from above or from the side, the signal transmission occurs via a horizontal interface. This means there is no movement of measuring lines in the system.
The servomotorical control of the toggle lever mechanism allows contacting in several stages whereby ICT and FCT are possible in the same fixture. Alternatively, an fixture with XYZΦ axis system is available for applications in which positioning is required, such as trimming potentiometers, button testing, movement of glass fibers for determining LED wavelengths or for AOI tasks.
The side-mounted lift mechanism allows the use of large volume (> 70 liter) fixture adapters. Torque profiles of operating panel controllers or buttons can be tested with these fixtures with electrical contacting from below.
Consistent modular architecture enables maximale flexibility
- servo, pneumatic or manually controlled toggle lever mechanism
- circuit board conveyor or workpiece carrier based (incl. Bosch TS2)
- freely adjustable conveyor speed; no stopper required
- optional additional transport levels
- various options for connecting measuring equipment
Another highlight of the KT-FlexCell 3500 is the fully wireless integration of PXI based test systems via the new PXI analog bus system from Konrad Technologies.
